Fishing in Scotland
Fishing in Scotland is very popular due to the variety
and quality. There are opportunities around the country
to fish for salmon, brown trout, roach, pike, grayling,
perch and also sea trout angling, but coarse
fishing is increasingly popular.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced fisher, Scotland offers everything
you need from experienced instructors to ghillies,
to guided fishing trips.
River & Loch Fishing
There are so many abundant opportunities for fantastic river and loch
fishing like the world famous names of the Rivers
Tay and
the
River Tweed, but there are numerous
more around the country, even the furthest north of
the mainland and on the Scottish Islands.
Lochs are pretty much the same, Loch Tay, Loch
Ettrick, Loch
Awe, Loch Ness and
even Loch Lomond, to name
a few.
If you were to count the number of lochs,
you would be looking at over 6,000 of them.
Sea Angling
The Scottish coastline of the mainland and islands offers sea angling.
From Argyll on the west coast,
to the hebridean
islands,
to the northern coastline of Sutherland and Caithness,
the Orkney & Shetland Isles,
and down the east coast, there is always somewhere
you can cast a line.
There are many specialised fishing charters available
around the country which will offer tuition, their
expertise and knowledge to make your fishing trip special. |
