The Highlands of Scotland
The Scottish Highlands, breathtaking,
dramatic and found at the further most
north of Scotland.
The Highlands of Scotland are cut
in half by the spectacular Grampian Mountains. Famous
landmarks are included in this area; Loch
Ness (and
its monster!!), Ben Nevis, Urquhart
Castle, Culloden, Dunrobin
Castle, Strathspey (famous
for its whisky) and John
'O Groats.
Scottish Hospitality
The Highlands of Scotland offers a great choice of accommodation
options of which many of them are in some of the world's
most spectacular settings. To enhance that, all
of them are noted for that warm Highland welcome that
makes you want to return again and again.
A small Rural Lodge, or Island
Croft where the children can feed the
animals, Guest
Houses or Bed & Breakfast, or
a Self-Catering
Holiday Cottage on the beach front
or miles from the nearest neighbours, a Local Pub or Inn with local musicians and ceilidhs.
If you want
to sample rural living in its truest form, look no further.
Wildlife and Landscape
There is a good choice of
boat trips and cruises for close encounters with sea-caves,
sea-stacks, seals and dolphins - and even to a special
garden accessible only by sea. Golf, cycling, walking,
riding and watersports are all to be found here as
well.
Golf in the Highlands
Golf in the Highlands may not be the first location
in Scotland that will jump to mind but, rest assured,
there is golf in the Highlands that truly is magical.
The newly opened Castle Stuart Links, the world famous
Royal Dornoch, the gorgeous links of Brora and Nairn,
the inland gems of Grantown-on-Spey and Spey Valley,
just to name a few.
