For Golf fanatics, Scotland is one of the top "must paly" destinations
in the world. Living the tag "Home of Golf", you can
expect history, tradition and Championship Golf.
Scotland has over 550 golf courses and with such
diversity on offer there is always a course for you
to challenge.
Championship Golf Courses
Famous destinations like St Andrews, Turnberry, Gleneagles Carnoustie
are all accessible, but not always affordable to everyone.
The beauty of Scotland is its diversity in courses
and affordablity.
But, if it is the elite championship
courses you are after, most are available to play.
The Old Course (ballot
system) and another 7 in St Andrews or
the Ailsa
Course (host
of the 2009 Open) at Turnberry, Royal
Troon, Prestwick (host
of the very first open) or Carnoustie and
Gleneagles has three courses each different styles,
but each possing a different challenge. All these stunning
destinations are accessible, but there are too many

Stepping aside from the Championship Courses, there are no shortage of
hidden gem golf courses to challenge your game. over
55 courses can be played within an hours drive of Edinburgh,
East Lothian is home to 19 courses. Ayrshire has around
20, while the Highlands might not be the first area
in Scotland that springs to mind, but there, you have
a further 46 courses to choose from.
So it is easy to see why Scotland is such an attraction.
